Salary:

    • Psychologist: $80,671 – $113,765pa.
    • Specialist Psychologist: $109,631 - $134,446pa
    • Plus environmental allowance, employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role 

As a Psychologist at Tamworth Correctional Centre, you'll provide assessment and intervention services to individuals in custody, contributing to rehabilitation and reintegration.

You’ll also:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions
  • Provide expert consultation on mental health, risk, and behavioural needs
  • Support case and behaviour management planning
  • Prepare professional reports and maintain clinical documentation (OIMS)
  • Engage in ongoing development, including CPD and our Annual Psych Conference

 

What we’re looking for 

We’re after ethical, motivated psychologists who can:

  • Deliver high-quality services in complex settings
  • Apply evidence-based practices to diverse cases
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Essential requirements

  • Minimum 4-year accredited qualification in psychology
  • Provisional or full AHPRA registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Specialist Applicants:

To be considered for the Specialist Psychologist grade, you must also meet the additional capabilities and experience as outlined in the Crown Employees Psychologists Award. Click here to view the criteria.
