About the role


Salary: $ 69,681 pa - $ 122,413 pa + Superannuation + Annual Leave Loading.
Position Type: Temporary & Ongoing Full-Time roles available
Location: Taree (Mid North Coast)

 

Taree Community Corrections is located just over 300 kms from Sydney and 2 hours from Newcastle on the Mid North Coast. It is surrounded by idyllic locations such as Foster and Harrington. 

 

The primary work location may be negotiable within the Mid North Region.

 

 

Psychologists work directly with offenders in custody and recently released offenders who have been reintroduced into the community. The role works as part of a cluster model in providing services to offenders in the community under supervision of CSNSW and providing consultation to staff regarding sexual and violent offenders and offender mental health and risk management.

 

Our Psychologists are highly valued and essential members of the team who work hard to make a difference and provide opportunities to assist offenders in reducing the risk of re-offending. Our team doesn’t stop there! 

 

Our Psychologists assist in the development of policies, procedures, and training for other psychologists and often liaise and negotiate with stakeholders.

Essential requirements

 

A minimum 4-year accredited qualification in psychology with current provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

 

You must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the psychologist’s ethical and legal obligations and professional accountability.

 

Current driver’s licence with ability and willingness to travel.

Please note: pre-provisional psychologists are not eligible to apply for these particular roles.

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional Correctional Services and Programs to reduce the risk of re-offending and enhance public safety. It serves a key function of the NSW Justice sector by providing effective, safe and humane management of offenders both in custody and in the community. CSNSW also works in partnership with other government and community agencies to ensure that offenders and their families are supported.
