Senior Project Officer
- This role is located in the Murrumbidgee, Far West & Western NSW (MFWWNSW) District
- Full time Temporary opportunity until 29 November 2025 (35 hours per week)
- Salary from $125,693 to $138,510 pa. + super and annual leave loading

Your role
We are seeking an Aboriginal Senior Project Officer to strengthen connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This role will manage partnerships, design and deliver programs, and improve access to vital services. By building meaningful relationships and delivering innovative projects, you will help shape a workforce that truly reflects the communities we serve.
What you’ll do
- Manage and oversee all aspects of project delivery, including planning, resource coordination, budgeting, reporting, and project activities, to ensure outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, to quality standards, and in line with agency methodology and Aboriginal client service delivery needs.
- Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to engage stakeholders and ensure project deliverables are met
- Monitor and evaluate all aspects of project implementation, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues, assess project progress and effectiveness, and achieve project outcomes
- Manage a project team/s, ensuring compliance with governance and quality requirements, to successfully deliver all key project/s milestones and outcomes
- Undertake research and formulate recommendations to support evidence based project planning and decision making
- Provide advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other project and priorities
- Develop and maintain relationships with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and key stakeholders to successfully deliver projects.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with demonstrated cultural capability, which includes lived experience, knowledge and understanding of contemporary social issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, including skills in identifying and/or responding to the diverse needs of Aboriginal people experiencing significant trauma and disadvantage. You will also have;
- Experience in strategic and innovative project management and an excellent understanding of project methodologies, processes and procedures.
- Proven ability to engage stakeholders, build trust, and facilitate consultation to achieve shared outcomes.
- Someone who lives within the Murrumbidgee, Far West and Western NSW District and understands the diverse communities of the region
