Your role
As a Case Management Officer at Wellington Correctional Centre, you’ll play a pivotal role in the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders. Through evidence-based practices, you’ll help create and guide intervention plans that address the root causes of offending and reduce the risk of recidivism.

What you’ll do
As part of the dedicated team, you will:
- Deliver a full range of case management services to offenders, ensuring all activities comply with relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.
- Conduct assessments to identify risks and needs, developing personalised case plans to support offenders through their rehabilitation journey.
- Guide offenders using motivational interviewing and strengths-based approaches, encouraging positive behavioural changes.
- Collaborate with service providers to refer offenders to programs and interventions that align with their case plans.
- Monitor the progress of case plans and ensure compliance with judicial requirements, providing regular updates and reports.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful reintegration for offenders upon release, enhancing their transition back into the community.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in delivering evidence-based interventions for diverse offender groups, particularly those with complex needs.
- Expertise in using risk assessments and case management tools to develop targeted intervention plans.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with experience in addressing challenging behaviours through behavioural interventions.
- Knowledge of contemporary correctional practices and a strong commitment to offender rehabilitation and reducing recidivism.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a cohesive and supportive case management process.
- Current Certificate IV in Correctional Practice with the necessary Units of Competency for this role – or the capacity to complete Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (internal training offered by Corrective Services Academy) in accordance with specified timeframes)
- Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent years of experience in human services fields is preferred.
