Director Community Corrections Operations – Southern District

 

  • Based in the Wollongong office, with flexibility to work across locations within the Southern district (listed below)
  • Temporary 12-month opportunity available
  • $223,417 to $247,520 total remuneration payable

 

Your role

The Director Community Corrections Operations will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of the Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) Strategic and/or Business Plan and the Community Corrections Blueprint while leading and directing operations within a designated District.

 

What you’ll do

  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction of Community Corrections by engaging in strategic planning and taking part in projects and working groups and other organisational or agency-wide activities. 
  • Lead, manage, guide and support managers in their operations and service delivery including planning, problem solving and culture change. 
  • Manage, Co-ordinate and co-operate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain and improve service delivery, or implement changes, initiatives or reforms.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the management and delivery of services and programs and provide executive level advice on how to ensure best practice within Community Corrections. 
  • Deliver executive level advice on the operation of the district, emerging issues or complex problems, including major/critical incidents and ensure the implementation of remedial actions from critical incident reviews.

While the base office location for this role will be at Wollongong, there is flexibility to work from other office locations across the Southern district, including: Albury, Bega/Batemans Bay, Queanbeyan/Cooma, Goulburn/ Bowral, Griffith, Nowra, Wagga Wagga, Junee/ Tumut, and Young.

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Experience as a senior executive, leading a strong people culture that aligns to vision, purpose, and goals of the organisation.
  • Experience managing a geographically dispersed team with diverse skillsets.
  • Strong risk management skills and political acumen.
  • Current driver’s license and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role, as travel will be required across the Southern district and on occasion across NSW and to Sydney.

We house remand and sentenced inmates in correctional centres and supervise offenders serving orders in the community. We collaborate with government and non-government partners to support victims, facilitate restorative justice, and promote reintegration.
